Answers to some of the most common questions I get asked. If you don't find yours here, just ask!

  How long will it take to clean my two-bedroom place?
There are a lot of factors that figure into how long it takes to clean a home so while I can give a very rough guess on the phone after asking a few questions the only way to get an accurate estimate is to have me come to your home. Estimates are always free and with no obligation.

  When are you available to give an estimate, and how long will it take?
I always try to work with what is convenient for you. For most people this is in an evening after work but if you prefer daytime that's fine too. Just tell me what is best for you. If you're in a rush the process can take as little as 10 minutes, but if you have questions I'm happy to spend the time to answer them for you.

  Is it okay if I'm home when you do the cleaning?
It is your home, you should do whatever you want in it. I am there to make your life easier and more convenient, not to try and run your life! I am completely comfortable working with clients at home while I am working.

  I'll be at work when you come to clean so how can we do this?
I will simply need access to your home. For most clients this means providing me with keys for the home and alarm codes if applicable, or whatever works best for you. Your keys are kept secure and not marked with any identifying information should anyone else come in contact with them.

  How do I make payment?
For regularly scheduled customers paying by cash or cheque payment is usually left in a predetermined spot (such as on the dining table or beside the phone) for me to collect as I finish cleaning. For one-time cleanings payment is collected when I am finished the job--if the client is not present I will have prearranged when and where I can collect it from them. For billed clients invoices and statements will be emailed and payment should be mailed to me within 10 days after the end of the month. Itex barter clients are automatically billed when the invoice/statement is emailed.

  What happens if you get sick or go on vacation?
In the years I've been cleaning I haven't missed an appointment due to illness. For vacation I contact the affected clients well in advance and make arrangements based on their needs. Some prefer to alter the date of their cleaning, others prefer I send a trusted associate to maintain their regular cleaning schedule. Obviously for commercial clients the second option is important.

  What if something gets damaged or broken?
My reputation is of utmost importance to me. I take great care in your home so such instances are very rare but in the event that something is damaged y ou can expect to immediately hear about it directly from me. The next step will be for me to rectify the situation with replacement or payment.

  Are you bonded?
No. Bonding is merely an insurance company saying they believe in your trustworthiness. Rather than invest in the expense of taking out a bond I rely on my track record of dependability and the reputation I've built.
